As you remember, in the midst of the Sofia Richie/Justin Bieber "rumored" stage of their "relationship" (which is now confirmed to be over, by the way), Selena Gomez and Justin Bieber argued back and forth on one of Justin's photos, and Hailey Baldwin coincidentally posted the quote below on Instagram in the midst of all of it... leading us to believe it was her advice to the both of them.
Well, even though Hailey deleted the post the same night, and probably hasn't thought about the photo she used since, the writer of the original quote hasn't forgotten. Page Six is reporting that Melissa Molomo, a Long Island author who WROTE the quote Hailey posted, sent a cease-and-desist letter to Hailey asking her to stop using her work without consent or credit.
The author's lawyer stated in a letter, "In copying and using Ms. Molomo’s work without permission, you have taken credit and caused confusion as to whom the original author of this work is,” The lawyer also added that Hailey could be liable for up to $150,000 in damages. Meaning, her seemingly innocent, playful shade throwing at Justin could cost her $150,000.
Molomo also asked that Hailey publicly apologize on social media for stealing her quote and "fraudulently passing it off as your own." Hailey hasn't commented about the potential lawsuit yet, considering she's working at London's Fashion Week currently. Hopefully she'll say something soon, and get it sorted out.
