It's been made clear that Simon Cowell hasn't taken the One Direction break well since it became public. After Liam Payne and Zayn Malik signed solo deals with competing labels, Niall Horan following close behind, and Harry Styles focusing on his acting debut, Simon hasn't been quiet about how betrayed he feels.
Over the weekend, Simon threw some shade at Niall for how his first single did on the UK charts. Niall's single, "This Town," debuted at number 9 in the UK, which is really good for someone's first solo song. Simon had other thoughts, though.
Simon told the Daily Star, "Niall probably would have had a No.1 single if he'd stayed with me. But you know who does have the top spot this week? James Arthur."
If that wasn't hurtful enough, Simon added, "I'm pleased he's back with us with a fantastic record. Hashtag loyalty."
Jeez, that's tough. We understand Simon is hurt, but the shade he's throwing is a bit immature, especially when he was Niall's mentor for the longest time. He should be supportive, instead of poking jabs at Niall's new career path.
