Skai Jackson is on her way to becoming a Hollywood icon. Best known for playing Zuri on Disney Channels Jessie, she is back on TV this fall with Bunk'd season 2. Speaking about season 2, she spoke to Teen Vogue and said "She's [Zuri] taking on some new responsibilities because she may be a counselor-in-training this season. We also have a new character named Griff on the show who's a juvenile delinquent, so you will definitely get to see their relationship together this season."
Skai has grown up with her character. She says, "Zuri is slowly starting to become more of who I am in real life. Starting on Jessie, she had a huge imagination, and had her imaginary friends, but now that she's 13 she has definitely passed that stage in her life and has grown so much."
When it comes to Skai, she's actually learned that she was the inspiration for Marvel's new protagonist Riri Williams, who will take over as IronHeart this year. Skai was super surprised, and said, "I didn't believe it at first when everyone was tweeting me about it, but when I saw it was actually true I was so happy. It's awesome that they would think of me and base the next big Marvel superhero off of me. That was definitely something I was not expecting and I'm so honored!"
She gave some really great advice on hate, check it out in the video below!
